TIMBERLINE TRAINING

Estimating Training - is done on-site or in Timberline approved classroom settings. Classes and individual training are designed for new users developing basic skills or seasoned users applying advanced functions of the program.

Basic training can normally be completed in 1 to 3 days. The time varies according to the estimator's experience with computers, estimating and construction as well as the complexity of the work being estimated.

Additional training may be required to master more advanced topics such as work breakdown codes, crews, and integration with scheduling or CAD software.

Training Class 1 (2 days)
is focused on:
  • Creating new estimates
  • Navigating around the program
  • Using Item and Assembly takeoff methods to estimate
  • Checking and making modifications to the estimate
  • Adding markups or add-on costs
  • Creating reports
  • Creating new Items
  • Creating new Assemblies
  • Creating basic formulas
  • Transferring the estimate to job cost
Training Class 2 (1 day) is focused on:
  • Building smart assemblies
  • Creating complex formulas
  • Creating 3 types of Item Tables
Training Class 3 (1 day) is focused on:
  • Creating and applying crews
  • Creating and applying WBS codes
  • Maintaining subcontract bids in the spreadsheet
  • Modifying assembly productivity
  • Making final spreadsheet adjustments
